We would like to provide a friendly clarification regarding information shared during the recent Mayor Forum on June 1 to ensure our community has accurate and transparent information.
During the forum, it was stated that the school district would receive $30 million as a result of the land exchange. We want to clarify that this is not correct.
The District has entered into a three-year funding agreement with Resolution Copper totaling $900,000, with $300,000 provided each year. These funds are dedicated to specific projects that were carefully identified and approved through a collaborative planning process to support our students and schools.
To be clear, the District has not received and will not receive $30 million from the land exchange.
We also want to share that the governing board has not taken any action regarding the sale of any District land.
Our priority is to ensure that our community receives accurate, factual information. We are committed to transparency and to keeping you informed about decisions, partnerships, and projects that impact our students and staff.
Additionally, as a governing board, we are not collectively endorsing any candidate. Our focus remains solely on supporting the District and serving our community.
We warmly invite all community members to attend our regular governing board meetings, held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.. Your engagement and involvement are always appreciated.
Thank you for your continued support of Superior Unified School District. You may also download a printable version of this clarification letter.
